World of Warcraft TCG: Spotlight – Renewal of Life

With Cryptozoic at the helm of the World of Warcraft TCG, everyone is excited to see that the crafting redemption program is back and healthy after its brief hiatus after the Upper Deck Entertainment fallout. Today I’ll be discussing a fun deck that I’ve been having success with at our local tournaments for you to try, all based around the Renewal of Life Badge of Justice redemption card.

The Deck
When the card first presented itself to me, I immediately leapt to the realization that a turn 4 “bring huge things out” possibility existed with the assistance of Gromble. With so many quests and allies that would allow you to dump cards to the graveyard before that turn, it seemed only a matter of time before I could come up with this idea. Perhaps you’ve thought of it as well – I was told that at the recent Realm Championships that a version existed with shamans with Spark and Inspiring Presence.

Anyhow, the class of the deck is paladin, as it has three of the cards necessary to protect the ring – Glimmer of Hope, Blessing of Liberty, and Greatsword of Horrid Dreams. Each of these will allow the ring to survive pretty much anything for the one turn that it needs to live. The basic theme would be dump huge allies in the graveyard and bring them all out in one turn.

The Deck List

Hero: Keegana Silvershield
Keegana was a dwarf paladin, which was one of the biggest attractions. However, her flip is amazing as well – assuming that your opponent has protectors, her flip would allow your huge allies one free swing on your opponent’s hero – and with such big numbers, one hit would be all that you would need!

Abilities: Glimmer of Hope x4
Originally there were more abilities in the main deck, such as Uplifting Prayer, but Glimmer of Hope ended up being the only ability that I cared to have in the deck, as it protected the victory condition of the deck. Glimmer of Hope would protect the ring from most forms of destruction – Spell Suppression, Puncture, The Natural Order, and so on. The only problem was that it didn’t stop allies like Munkin or Tatulla, nor equipment effects like Vindicator’s Brand. Can’t have everything, I suppose.
