World of Warcraft TCG - Core Druid
With all the hubbub about the new WoW TCG format – Core – I thought I’d share my deck building process with you.
As with all decks, decks are built in one of three ways:
1) They’re completely original with a new concept.
2) They’re an improvement or slight change over something that previously existed.
3) They’re an exact copy of something else that exists, card for card.
This deck falls into the second category – a change from a Classic deck to a Core one, in this case, Traitor Horde Druid. We’ll lose Twig of the World Tree, Rak Skyfury, Cyclone, Finkle Einhorn, One Draenei’s Junk…, Moonfire, Snig Feralsnout, and Wrath, but we still have access to Cobrascale Hood, Thunder Bluff, ALAMO, Quakelord Razak Warhoof, and Form of the Serpent. This means we’ll be a little bit slower, but most of the decks in Core will have this problem, so it doesn’t matter that much.
This deck is a versatile deck, meant to win relatively quickly. It could easily be changed into a slower deck with bigger win conditions; using Hammer of the Naaru as a finish or perhaps using Rebirth to make sure your huge allies stay in the game. And there’s always Illidan Stormrage.

Abilities:
Energize x3
With the loss of Innervate and some of the better quests, I turned to Energize for some nice instant draw. I didn’t want four because it seems to clutter the deck too much.
Form of the Serpent x4
One of the deck’s main win conditions, and an easy way to destroy allies, this one seems solid.
Hibernate x4
Ally removal for those that provided troublesome, like Kazamon Steelskin and Weldon Barov, and also an instant answer – so yes, four of this card, please.
Natural Repossession x4
All Core decks, due to the nature of not having side decks, need a way to deal with all problems; and Natural Repossession seems a given for a deck that needs an answer to both abilities and equipment. The Natural Order may provide the same response, but it may not be strong enough if playing up against a solo deck.
