World of Warcraft TCG – Two-Headed Ogre
If you’ve ever had the chance to attend the Dark Moon Faire, you’ll notice that there’s always an event you need a friend for – the Two-Headed Ogre event, where you and a friend sit side by side and try to dominate as a team.
I attended GenCon with a friend, and we both tried our hands at the Two-Headed Ogre event. Some of the teams just seemed formed of a pair that played solo decks, while others definitely seemed to be working together. I hope that there will be more team events in the future, especially with the number of multiplayer cards that WoW has to offer. Haven’t noticed them? Well, let’s take a look at some of them before you and a friend step into the pairs arena…
Toxic Horrors is a quest that costs 3 to complete, with a reward of up to two players drawing one card. This card was made for pairs, and definitely worth considering! Right alongside this card you should consider Gurok the Usurper, as it can easily copy Toxic Horrors for more draw power. The best part about using Toxic Horrors is that you can give your partner an extra draw, essentially for free, allowing him to make full use of the extra card. Another decent quest that allows a double draw for three is I Was A Lot of Things… from the Hunt for Illidan set.
For the Alliance, Madison Alters is an awesome ally. She costs a hefty 6, but she essentially is a 7/7 untargetable ally – hard to ignore in any format. On the same lines, Kindara Mindflayer is most likely a 4 cost 5/5 ally since both opposing heroes will have to be face down for her to become a 3/3.
For reputations, look no further than the Aldor – the Scryer become much less useful in this format. Inspire becomes huge, as you ready on each player’s turn! Myriam Starcaller and Instructor Giralo suddenly allow you to do 20 damage before it’s your turn again (5 on your turn, 5 on your partner’s, and 5 on each of your opponents’); rising to 30 by the time it’s the end of your partner’s next turn – which is enough to kill every hero but Bulkas. Using this same method, you can use Xavar or Marksman Glous, and have a serious number of ready resources to play instant abilities – or perhaps pay for a very fast Millhouse Manastorm. If both Xavar and Glous are out by turn 3 with Millhouse, you can ready 2 resources a turn; allowing you to complete Millhouse’s monologue before your next turn – meaning you have a 6/7 ally on turn 4!
