Impressions of Wrathgate, the WoW TCG (Part 5 - Quests and More)

We previously discussed the equipment. Finally, we come to the quests. Quests form the backbone of a deck, but for the most part, you’re looking at ways to support your deck through draw. If you have a fast deck, you want fast options – cards that draw quickly are usually lower in cost but draw less cards. If you’re going for a longer game, you usually want cards that draw you more cards, or have a special effect like Solanian’s Belongings. This set features three new class quests, an Argent Crusade quest, quests that support the holy theme, and quests that simply ask you to exhaust cards.

Class Quests
No Mere Dream: Constructed 7 (resource acceleration can be very useful; and this allows you to put locations and quests into play face up, which is an improvement on previous acceleration cards like Bloodsea Brigand’s Vest), Draft 6 (resource acceleration is less important, but it can still help)

Paladin Training: Constructed 5 (there are some neat applications for this quest; especially since you can suddenly protect with an ally they didn’t expect, or save an ally with your hero; but I’d usually prefer to draw cards), Draft 8 (suddenly being able to protect and prevent the damage is a pretty hefty “threat” card)

The Ichor of Undeath: Constructed 9 (This is simply a straight up improvement over Chasing Ame-01, and if you want this power, there’s no reason to overlook this quest if you’re a priest), Draft 9 (getting back an ally of your choice is very solid later in the game)

Argent Crusade Quest
The Call of the Crusade: Constructed 5 (this allows you to draw multiple cards, but if you’re only drawing one, Tabards of the Illidari is better, if you’re drawing two, it’s a little better than Rise and Be Recognized as it can be completed outside your turn; but beyond two cards you’re using a lot of resources – and you need the allies to boot; so other quests may simply be better), Draft 4 (depends if you have unique allies; but both have to be in play at the same time for this to work)
