Impressions of Wrathgate, the WoW TCG (Part 4 - Equipment)
We previously discussed the allies. The next step in analyzing a new set is to take a look at all of the new equipment. Equipment, like abilities, can often support old deck types while creating completely new archetypes.
Armor
Boots of Renewed Flight: Constructed 3 (this armor reminds me of the Horns of Eranikus from the first set; it provides poor card draw), Draft 7 (some draw power is okay, and a 1 drop armor isn’t a bad thing)
Cloak of the Shadowed Sun: Constructed 7 (allows protection against Seer’s Signet, fits nicely into Deathwish, and is on the back, which doesn’t have much competition), Draft 8 (protect your allies, debuff opposing allies, and prevent one damage!)
Gloves of Token Respect: Constructed 2 (seems bad unless we start to see really powerful tokens for these three classes), Draft 5 (allows use of unused resources for small allies, prevents damage)
Helm of Vital Protection: Constructed 8 (just seems pretty amazing, especially given its cost and prevention; slots nicely into solo decks), Draft 7 (more useful if you have other weapons or armor, but itself is great simply for the damage prevention)
Hood of the Exodus: Constructed 7 (this card has potential to be very strong; especially with all of the new allies with Assault – and then you could use something like Fordragon Hold or Kor’kron Vanguard as well…), Draft 7 (there’s a lot of assault out there)
Leggings of the Honored: Constructed 2 (situational prevention relies on an opposing ally going to the graveyard; best use is when Uruka goes to the graveyard from hand to prevent 5 damage; else you will have to create situations to make this useful), Draft 4 (armor is good in general but this one is a little overcosted – I’d rather have an ally)
Protective Barricade of the Light: Constructed 5 (this card is amazing and I’d give it a higher rating – if it didn’t have to compete with Antonidas’s Aegis and Aegis of the Vindicator for the same slot), Draft 9 (high damage prevention to cost ratio regardless of which class you play)
