D&D 4th ed: The Predator

Last time we had Aliens, so of course we have to have the Predators as well.

While the Aliens are native horrors of the Shadowfell, the Predators are a race of proud hunter warriors from the Feywild, originating deep in the most verdant and dangerous areas of that teeming, tooth and claw plane.

Predators average around seven and a half feet tall, have green, tan and cream skin with an almost reptilian appearance, and they have thick, leathery spikes in place of hair and truly monstrous faces, dominated by a jaw which can open out widely due to two sets of jointed mandibles. They are cunning, highly capable killers that base their entire culture around hunting challenging prey, and in the society of the predators, there is great sport to be had in hunting the most dangerous intelligent humanoids they can find.. adventurers!

The fey power of the predators runs through their glowing, green blood, and one inherent power they have is to invest crossbow bolts with deadly radiant energy (once fired from the repeating crossbows that they have strapped to their shoulder).

They are merciless in combat, but have a strict code of conduct when it comes to what they do and do not kill. They will avoid a weak target and single out the strongest. Ideally they will engage in one on one combat to the death with the fiercest prey they can find. For a predator, the honor of defeating a great trophy beast is what they live for. In the dens of the predators, they keep a gallery of skulls, as testament to a rich lifetime of brutal combat.

The intellect of a predator is not like that of most other humanoids, focused as it is on hunter and hunted, they would never consider another humanoid race to be worthy of becoming one of their tribe. The best one could hope for is to be considered as a fellow hunter, and not just potential prey.
