Xbox Avatar Outfits - Who's Buying this crap?

Dear readers, who among you is buying this junk? Are you seriously spending hard earned - in most cases - money, on clothing items for your Xbox Avatar? I can understand DLC, I can even understand costumes or purely aesthetic tweaks to your in-game characters, but why are you paying for outfits for an avatar that has almost nothing to do with your gaming experience?

How many people even look at their avatar on a daily basis? I'm not a huge Xbox gamer, but when I find a game I like, I play that game. I don't spend ages mulling around in the menu system checking out what my buddies look like. There's obviously people doing this though. People must be buying this or new costumes wouldn't be released in such rapid succession as they have been.

I'm not even sure who these outfits are targeted at. Is it the growing female audience of gamers on the Xbox Live platform? If so its a little condescending; the female gamers that can expertly navigate the menu system have been gaming for long enough not to waste their time with this crap.

Male gamers? Come on, no self respecting man is going to spend money on dressing up his avatar; its the equivalent of playing with dolls. I guarantee 90% of masculine gamers set up their avatar when NXE rolled around and then never looked at it again.

If anyone has an insight into who is actually utilising these outfits and even paying for them, please let me know so I can trash them.
