Score 10/10Review:
Uncharted 2: Better than COD MW2

Uncharted 2 is the most fun game I’ve played in a very long time. Sure, I might have enjoyed my time with Mass Effect 2 more, but once it was over, it was over. I keep coming back to Uncharted 2, and the multiplayer will probably continue to occupy my time for a long while. What I don’t get, and what drives me crazy, are the Playstation 3 gamers who are spending all of their time playing Call of Duty when they have such a better game on their hands, and it is an exclusive.

It’s not that I’m saying Call of Duty is a bad game. Au contraire, it can be a lot of fun as well. But it is also very repetitive, and multiplayer is very competitive. It takes away from the fun of the game. Either you play it for hours every day to try and get as good as some of the other losers online, or else you spend your days getting your head blown off time and again.

Uncharted 2 is just plain easier to new players. It’s easier for new players to get the hand of taking cover, and climbing things, and the third person perspective just makes movement and finding your way around so much easier. Within a day, I was getting positive K/D ratios, and for me that’s a big deal.

If you like the customization of Call of Duty, don’t worry, we got some of that in Uncharted 2 as well. Instead of Perks, you have two boosters you can choose, giving you useful upgrades to get an edge online. Also, unlike Call of Duty, you can choose your character that you play, allowing you to look as you want to look, unlike Call of Duty where your appearance is random.

If you do get tired of deathmatch, both games offer a series of co-op missions that offer an enjoyable distraction from the rest of the game. Uncharted 2 offers multiple game types. You can play co-op story missions, or play an arena style game where you fight off waves of enemies. There’s an alternative to the arena mode in which you have to collect treasure while avoiding the waves of enemies coming in. They’re simple modes, but a lot of fun.

Also, there are always the campaigns in both games, but this is another situation where Uncharted 2 gives a more enjoyable experience. It’s longer, sure, but has better writing, and gives a more entertaining journey. You follow Drake through his fortunes, and misfortunes. It’s like playing a movie, and a good one at that. It’s a non-stop action ride, and should be experienced by anyone who owns a Playstation 3.
