Top 20 Nintendo DS Games of All Time (20 - 16)

With the release of Nintendo’s new handheld system just around the corner, its time for us to look back on the glory years of the Nintendo DS and what better way to do that then with a countdown? But first a disclaimer, the DS will still be releasing games for a few months to come, with games such as the highly sought after Pokemon Black and White versions coming sometime next Spring, so this list will not take into account those games or be updated to include them later on. Also due to me loving to build suspense, I shall be splitting this article into four different parts with each counting down to the big finale of the greatest game on this wonderful system. On a final note, since most of the big named games are part of a series, I’m not going to pick just one game from that series but instead announce the series as one, so for continuity’s sake accept that four games of one series be listed as one in this countdown. Now without any further ado let us dive into some of the greatest games of the past six years.

20.) Nintendogs:
Nintendogs was one of the first games to truly utilize the systems new touch screen control aspects by completely interacting with your virtual canine via said touch screen. Though the game as a whole was pretty repetitive and probably didn’t need four other versions made, its innovation was so great to the system that it deserves a spot in the top twenty list. The gameplay for Nintendogs was simple, take care of a virtual dog by giving it baths, walks, and just playing with it. The most entertaining parts of these games were how you could dress up your dogs in crazy hats and the unique toys (like a RC car) to play with them. If you haven’t played the game its definitely worth a pick up now since you can probably get the game for $10 to $15. Nintendo has even announced a sequel to the series called Nintendogs and Cats which is said to be a release title for the brand new 3DS when it comes out later next year.
