Top 20 Nintendo DS Games of All Time (15-11)

Welcome everyone! If you’re just joining us now here’s a quick update. Since the new Nintendo handheld, the 3DS will be out within months now we are counting down the top twenty games for this monumental handheld system of the past. If you’re curious about the first five games you missed then click the link HERE, otherwise let us continue on with the countdown.

15.) The Professor Layton series:
This countdown reminds me of a puzzle, and as with everything in Layton’s world you’ll find that all your problems will be answered by solving a riddle a stranger gives you. When you first play a Layton game, you’ll notice its not your average text-based adventure as it features stunning animation and voice acting which is always a plus for a DS game. The only real downside to Professor Layton is that being a text game, it isn’t for everyone (which is what kept it from being higher in the list).
But if you’re willing to try new games and have an open mind then Professor Layton is the game for you. Besides, if you’re not a fan of innovative or unique games why would you have a DS in the first place? Anyway, as of now there are only three games in the series which have excellent stories. And with two more to be released when the 3DS comes out now is a great time to dive into the Professor Layton series.

14.) Super Mario 64 DS:
Mario’s first step into the world of the three-dimensional was back in 1996 on the Nintendo 64. Fast-forward a few years later and Nintendo re-releases this game as the debut hit for the Nintendo DS moving from a console to handheld. Not to mention that they also enhanced the graphics and added numerous new gameplay features, and keep in mind that this was all on a handheld which showed just how much power the Nintendo DS really had.
