Deus Ex 3
Release Date: 2010
Platforms: PC, Xbox 360, PS3
Why: Though we haven’t seen much of anything from this game, besides a teaser, it IS slated to come out this year. It’s anticipated because the first game in the series was one of the best PC shooters ever made. It’s blend of shooting and role playing, as well as its huge emphasis on choice, made it one of my personal favorite games of all time. Think Mass Effect, but first person and you’re given even more freedom than ever. If this game comes close to it’s level of awesome, we should be in for a treat.

Dark Void
Release Date: January 19 2010
Platforms: PC, Xbox 360, PS3
Why: For those anticipating this game, you won’t have to anticipate long. It looks like a fairly simple game, with its most unique feature being only a small part of the actual gaming. The vertical shooting or whatever. What makes this game shine is the jetpack you get at the beginning of the game, that you’ll be able to use whenever you like. It opens up a whole new realm of possibilities, but don’t open it up inside buildings. I hear that hurts.

8.
Alan Wake
Release Date: May 2010
Platforms: Xbox 360
Why: By the guys who did Max Payne, comes this “psychological action thriller” about a writer named Alan Wake who comes to a small town with his wife, only to have his wife disappear, and creepy things start happening. It’s said to have a tight focus on story, great visuals, and a creepy premise.

Also, I'm very excited for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Hideo Kojima doing Castlevania? Where do I sign up?
1. I'd say it's got the same chances as Deus Ex 3 of coming out this year. Which isn't very high. I tried to keep this list populated with sure bets, except again for Deus Ex 3. Personally I like Deus Ex more than Fallout, though they're both big on making your own choices.
2. Fallout Las Vegas isn't being made by Bethesda. It's being made by Obsidian, the same guys who took over from Bioware in the making of KOTOR 2 and Neverwinter Nights 2. I don't know if you played those games but they, Kotor 2 especially, were very rushed and not at the level of polish found in the original games. Kotor 2 didn't even have a finished ending. You beat the final boss and the game just ended without ever telling you what happened. It's for that reason that I'm a little skeptical over this new Fallout. It could be good. Only time will tell.

As for Castlevania, didn't Hideo Kojima work on previous games? I've never been a huge fan of the series, but I've appreciated it for kicking ass.
