Sony gives the all clear on PlayStation Network problems.

Date: 2 Mar 2010
Last night Sony gave an update via ‘PlayStation.Blog’ that the problems plaguing PlayStation 3 users worldwide had been fixed. The update that can be viewed at http://blog.us.playstation.com

It stated:

“We are aware that the internal clock functionality in the PS3 units other than the slim model, recognized the year 2010 as a leap year. Having the internal clock date change from February 29 to March 1 (both GMT), we have verified that the symptoms are now resolved and that users are able to use their PS3 normally.”

PlayStation users are also advised that any existing time and date problems can be simply fixed by changing the date manually and any trophy issues should be fixed as soon as a game is launched, at which point all user trophies should be re-synced.

It may have been a rough 24 hours for Sony, with such a devastating problem crippling most users from playing any game, but gamers can now take a deep breath and relax, and get back to some valuably missed gaming hours.
