Dear potential readers,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Jon Martindale, I'm a freelance writer and website owner from the UK and this will be my first, and hopefully one of many "blog" posts on alltern8.

I'm 22 years old and have been freelance writing since I left 6th form college at 18, with most of my background in PC hardware journalism; having written just under 200 reviews in that time. I also write for TheInquirer.net where recent pieces have been on Piracy and interviews with company heads. Other work includes some script writing for a DVD production company which saw me writing about such varied topics as Triumph motorcycles and their history, to World War Two.

I've got a vested interest in many of the topics on alltern8 and plan to comment on quite a few of them, so my advanced apologies if there isn't much cohesive structure to my blog for a while as I try and figure out what it is I'd like to write about, and you'd like to read. I'm an avid PC and console gamer, I take part in tabletop wargame sessions from time to time, and also enjoy reading comics and watching movies; so there should be plenty to talk about.

So prepare for the alltern8 pies to have my greasy mits dipped into several of them at once, and I hope at least I can produce something that's worth the ocasional glance by a few of you. Here's to alltern8 and some interesting postings by yours truly.
