Whoa, That’s a Lot of Boba Fetts -- It's the New Episode of the Clone Wars!

Whoa that’s a lot of Boba Fetts! That's what my five year old son said when he saw the ads for the new episode of the Clone Wars Animated series entitled, "The Mandalore Plot."

I really think most Star Wars fan has been obsessed with the Madolorians since we got our first glance at Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back. Even before we knew who or what a Mandalorian was, before we even knew what the word was. But ever since we saw that helmet, that gun, that jetpack--we've been obsessed with them. Boba Fett is probably one of the most iconic Star Wars characters, after Darth Vader and Yoda. We seen the Mandalorians in video games, books and comics--plus the slightly awkward clone explanation presented with Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones and now finally, we get them in The Clone Wars Animated series. And the episode--and the Mandolorians--do not disappoint.

The Mandalorians are now a peaceful people, with their leader Dutchess Satine heading the Council of the Neutral Systems. With conspiracy rumors of the Duchess creating an army to oppose the Republic, Obi-Wan Kenobi journeys to Mandalore to investigate. Right away, we can tell Kenobi and Satine have had a past together—“My shining Jedi Knight to the rescue again,” she says. They claim all their warriors were exiled to their moon Concordia and have died out. Obi-Wan brings up his encounter with Jango Fett (in Star Wars Attack of the Clones movie) but they claim he’s a common bounty hunter, not a Mandalorian warrior.

One of my favorite aspects of the Clone Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi is his charismatic, almost flirtatious nature—which is in abundance here between himself and Satine.

The Dutchess claims that a terrorist cell of Mandalorians, called the Death Watch, are behind the rumors and act of aggression. The Death Watch are dedicated to their warrior ways of the past. Unbeknownst to Satine, the Death Watch have aligned themselves with Count Dooku in an act to regain control of Mandalore from Satine.
