The Vampire Diaries

Returning: January 21st 2010

What it’s about: The show is plainly and blatantly taking advantage of the recent Twilight teen vampire romance thing. Stefan is a vampire, and Elena is a girl in love with a vampire.

Current Season: Midway through Season 1

What’s happened so far: Stefan moved to town because he heard of a girl who looked like an old flame of his. Her name is Elena, and the second she sees his oversized creased forehead, she was in love. But from the way he stares silently at her, it seems he loves her too.

Then his evil brother Damon shows up. He’s a douchebag, and likes playing with people. While Stefan is a vegetarian, his brother is not and it causes all sorts of trouble. Damon uses his vampire voodoo on one of Elena’s friends, Caroline. He uses her for random chores, and abuses her. Finally Stefan convinces Damon to leave her alone, though he secretly still uses her at time, and it’s taking its toll on her sanity.
