Legend of the Seeker
Returning: January 8, 2010 (Might air on later dates in your region)
What it’s about: Based on the Sword of Truth books by Terry Goodkind, Legend of the Seeker is a magical fantasy series similar to Lord of the Rings. There’s magic, swords, and monsters. What’s not to love?
Current Season: Midway through Season 2
What’s happened so far: Richard Cypher is the Seeker of Truth. He was named by the Wizard of the First Order, Zeddicus Z’ul Zorander, and his mission is to seek out truth (Get it?) and fight evil. An evil Sorceror named Lord Rahl terrorized the land, but Richard Cypher collected the books of Orden, and used it to defeat him. He travelled with Kahlan, a Confessor. Confessors have a power to enslave people upon touch. Only problem is, she can’t control her powers, and though she’s in love with Richard, she can’t have sex with him or else risk enslaving him (There is no cure).
In season 2, there are rifts opening up to the underworld. The Keeper (Some evil dude) is working to break through into the surface realm and take over. Richard must stop him by finding the Stone of tears. He’s joined by Cara, a Mord Sith. Mord Sith are women who have been tortured to breaking point, and are hardened soldiers previously working for Rahl. Together they have been following a compass to find the sword of tears, while Lord Rahl, now dead and working for the keeper, has been recruiting souls to continue the fight on the surface.
