Review:
The Golden Age of Justice! New Episode of Batman Brave and the Bold!

The fifth episode of season two has my favorite team-up so far as Batman and Detective Chimp solve the mystery of the stolen Golden Skull! Done in a pure Clue-style mystery, Detective Chimp and Batman interrogate the suspects until Falsefase is revealed! He attempts to flee only to slip on Detective Chimp’s previously discarded banana peel!

Using golden age characters like Detective Chimp and Falseface truly shows the love the creators have for classic comics and obscure characters. I love Detective Chimp! I'm totally bananas for him--oh yeah, I went there. For those of you that are unfamiliar, Detective Chimp is a chimpanzee with human-intelligence who wears a deerstalker hat (like Sherlock Holmes) and solves crimes.

Detective Chimp finally speaks at the end as he tells Batman not to patronize him—as he eats a banana peeled by Batman! Made me laugh out loud, so goofy!

The main story takes us on a flashback of a young Justice Society defeating Per Degaton during World War 2 before revealing a modern day reunion of the aging JSA--Jay Garrick Flash, Hawkman, Dr. Mid-nite, Hourman and Wildcat.  Current Black Canary (daughter of the original) and Batman are also there to show respect for their mentors. We get some nice flashbacks of a younger JSA as they train Black Canary and Batman (with Batman sporting the Bob Kane original costume, again showing the love of comic history the creators have).
