Hang on to That Lightsaber, it's the Newest Star Wars The Clone Wars!

This week the Clone Wars Animated series gives us a nice change of pace in the episode titled “Lightsaber Lost.” Anakin and Ahsoka have returned to Coruscant in search of an arms dealer selling weapons to the Separatists. The trail takes them into the underworld of the lower levels of Coruscant. While her Master deals with the situation like he always does—with aggression—Ahsoka is left to watch the door. Ahsoka is knocked over in the flood of people exiting the club and quickly notices her lightsaber has been lifted from her. She loses the culprit but doesn’t tell her Anakin as he’s always telling her, “Your lightsaber is your life.” If only she knew how many times Anakin had lost his.

Upon returning to the Jedi Temple, Ahsoka goes to the library to try and figure out just who pick pocketed her lightsaber. There she meets an old Jedi named, Tera Sinube an expert in the criminal underworld of Coruscant. He agrees to help her as long as she brings him along. So beings their adventure to get her lightsaber back. While the episodes plot is fairly straight forward—get her lightsaber back before something bad can be done with it—the theme of the episode is patience as Master Sinube tries to teach Ahsoka to slow down and calm herself. Ahsoka is a just like her Master Anakin, aggressive, impatient and headstrong. Sinube shows her by slowing down, listening to her feelings and by calming herself, she will find her lightsaber.

After finding the original pickpocket, Ahsoka uses aggressive tactics to get the information she wants out of him—tactics that border on the Dark Side, something she has learned from her Master. His information finally leads them to two females, one who has killed the person the original pickpocket sold the lightsaber to.

The chase scenes are great as Ahsoka pursues the girl with her lightsaber across rooftops and vid screens but eventually loses her again. Along comes Sinube on a speeder bike, picks Ahsoka up and takes her on the slowest speeder bike journey ever.
