The Aliens are Back for the Alienware BlackShot Tournament 2
Looks like BlackShot is turning out to be one of the hotshot first-person shooting (FPS) games at the moment here in Asia.
I have just posted the results of the first qualifier round of the BlackShot Tournament @ Colosseum here in Singapore, which was held last Sunday, December 13. The BlackShot Tournament @ Colosseum is composed of four qualifier rounds; the next events will be held on January 3, 2010 (second round), January 24 (third round), and February 21 (fourth round), before going to the grand finals on March 20.
Now why did I say BlackShot’s becoming the next CS? Well, Alienware, the company that builds custom gaming PCs—you know, those high-performance “alien” gaming desktop and laptop computers with average prices ranging from $2,000 to $5,000—is sponsoring another BlackShot Tournament here in Singapore, the Alienware BlackShot Tournament 2, which will be held on December 20, 2009, at the CyberDome, and will feature Pro or Casual tournaments to balance the pros and the trainees in the game.
Casual Teams Tournament
The criteria for the Casual Teams Tournament are that any and all players in the team must NOT have won the top 3 places in all previous Blackshot Tournaments. The Casual Teams Tournament will see 16 teams of three players each, battling for the first prize of: $200 + 3x AK47/AWP Black + 3x Tactic package 1 or 2 + 3x XP/BP Bonus. The game is double elimination, and will be held on any of following maps: Core Project, Panic Space or Gallery. The Casual Teams Tournament has a registration fee of S$15 or 15,000 CC.
But players need not worry, as the apart from the top prize, seven other teams will get to win prizes. For the second place, the team will win $150 + 3x AK47 + 3x Tactic package 1 or 2; third place, $100 + 3x P90 Jungle + 3x Tactic package 1 or 2; and fourth to eight places, $50 + 3x Choice 3 Masks + 3x XP/BP Bonus. Not bad for a S$15 dollar investment.
