Team Rejects Dominated Colosseum BlackShot Tournament 2010

The Colosseum BlackShot Tournament 2010 ended not just with a bang but with a blast as well, as 16 teams battled for the top prize, fame and glory last Saturday, March 20, at the Colosseum, the biggest cyber gaming center in Singapore, in Iluma @ Bugis.

After the grueling event, which started at 9am but lasted well past 3am Sunday, Team Rejects was crowned the winner, followed by Axis.Kryptonite (first runner-up); my bet [Bf.Nut] (second runner-up); and Rejects.Fragfactory, for the third runner-up position. These winning teams received the following prizes: S$500 and Siberia Neckband (x5) for the first prize; $250.00 + Kinzu Mouse (x5) for the second prize; $150.00 + 4D MousePad (x5) for the third prize; and $50.00 + QCK MousePad (x5), fourth prize.

Overall, it has been an exciting tournament. One highlight, at least for me, was the “journey” to the championship road by the Team [Bf.Nut]. During the Qualifier Round 1, Team [Bf.Nut] was the second runner up. However, the team forfeited its seeding due to a team reshuffle of more than two players in the line-up. Therefore, in the Qualifier Round 2, the organizers selected five qualifying teams to make up with the [Bf.Nut] forfeit. But, the team proved why they deserved a slot in the Grand Finals, as they came out strong during the third qualifier round; in fact, besting the teams Rejects.FragFactory and Rejects.Sense (NOTE: After checking and double-checking my records as well as announcements from the Colosseum BlackShot Tournament Forums page, I believe that Rejects.Sense was the initial name of the grand winner Rejects). During Grand Finals, the [Bf.Nut] team showed its might to finish third overall.
