Alltern8 is pleased to announce that it is hosting the Open Beta Client on behalf of Cryptic Studios

So you can then seek out new life and new civilizations in a brand new MMO based on Gene Roddenberry's sci-fi universe.

The Open Beta began on January 12, 2010 and will end on January 26, 2010. You will need a beta key to play.

Please Note: Internet Explorer (IE) often has issues downloading very large files, so use download manager software or another browser (like Google Chrome, Opera, or Firefox) to download this file reliably.

Hi Kristofer, the only reports of erroers we've had are from people trying to use IE to do the download as they get a "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage", we'd recommend using a download manager (or Chrome/Firefox etc).

The first 1,000 entrants have received theirs, we've been offered more to cope with the demand so the others will get them as soon as we do...enjoy those that have won so far!

If the open beta closes on J26 and you are ending the contest on the 20th, that would leave only 4-5 days max to try it, from the original 14...see where I'm getting at?...

Hi Bob, Unfortunately we're still awaiting the keys from Cryptic - as soon as they arrive we'll dispatch them to the first 1,000 correct entrants, sorry for the wait but if the 1,000 entrys are there before the 20th we wont make people wait to get online!

So is the deal that there are 1000 keys available for the first 1000 entrants to the contest, but that no keys will be given out until the 20th?
