Gamers worldwide are set to experience the turbulent years near the end of the Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms era of China with the launch of the English version of the Warriors of the 3 Kingdoms SEA (W3KSEA) game. Developed by Asiasoft Online, one of the leading online entertainment leader in Southeast Asia, Warriors of the 3 Kingdoms SEA is a free-to-play action strategy massively-multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) based on the well-known Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which has influenced the cultures of every nation in East Asia.

Apart from the visually stunning skill effects and combat sequences, W3KSEA offers gamers the choice of using both keyboard and mouse, or a joypad, to join in the epic power struggles between the three nations. The game is set in the era of epic power struggles between the three warring states. It surpasses the traditional framework of monotonous leveling in other Morphs with a huge number of refreshing teamwork elements in the game. Gameplay includes creating strategies for effective national policies, cutting off opponents’ resources, banding together, and eventually achieving triumph in an epic showdown against other heroes on the main battlefield.

The Warriors of the 3 Kingdoms SEA is developed by South Korea-based WeMade Entertainment, and is published by Asiasoft Online in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Through a W3KSEA Alpha Sneak Peek event held in October 2009, Asiasoft Online generated buzz for W3KSEA amongst the gaming community when members of prominent guilds from various MMORPG games were invited to have a first look at W3KSEA. The company also carried out aggressive online viral marketing for W3KSEA through various social networking platforms including Facebook and Twitter, leading to gamers inquiring about the game and even requesting for its game client even before its Closed Beta Testing (CBT) official date was announced.

Within a month of the viral marketing campaign, the public snapped up all 20,000 DVD game clients from partner retail outlets and road shows across Singapore. More than 2,000 DVD game clients were delivered to gamers who had previously requested for a copy through W3KSEA’s official website; and through collaboration with MMOsite, Asiasoft Online gave more than 1,000 exclusive beta item codes a week prior to the CBT to maintain the gamers’ continued interest in W3KSEA. CBT ended around the early part of November, leading to the commercial launch of W3KSEA.
