Review:
My Search for the Best F2P MMORPG Continues
In my previous post, I discussed some free-to-play (F2P) massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) that I’ve been playing (Altis Gates and Gates of Andaron) and anticipating (Battle of Immortals and Requiem: Alive). In this post, I’ll be discussing one F2P MMORPG that, for me, is the closest in comparison to the World of Warcraft (WoW). This will also serve as my semi-review of the game, which is turning out to be one of the top games in my best F2P MMORPG list.

The MMORPG Soul of the Ultimate Nation, a.k.a. S.U.N., is developed by the Korean gaming company Webzen, the same developer that launched the popular pay-to-play MMORPG Mu Online. S.U.N. is a fantasy-based F2P MMORPG, and I have been playing the game for a few days now. I must admit that I am kind of hooked in it in a way (for the time being, I prefer playing S.U.N. than Mu Philippines—the Philippine version of Mu Online) because, despite being a free-to-play game, its graphics texture is way better than Mu, as well as the animation/movement when it comes to gameplays (battles with monsters while doing quests); and the game’s got really cool skills. My Dragon Knight is just Level 14, but I already got a pretty awesome set of Sword skills that I can do a combo with.
Apart from that, S.U.N. has a pretty user-friendly interface and menus, such as character info, items, skills, etc. Most specially, at least for me, is the map (See picture below). You will never get lost in finding your quest, as well as you can toggle the map so that it can be imposed, but somehow transparently and lightly, in your center view, so that you will have a bigger version of it when travelling (although you can also see this in the mini-map at the upper right hand corner of the screen).
