The journey continues!

Greenreach was real fun and exciting too, but it’s about time I moved on. I’ve been hanging around here chilling for long enough, I want to get going, so let’s pack our stuff! I’ve already changed my socks and wrapped some bandages round my stinking feet to protect against blisters. The miserable vendor reckoned that this would give me continuous health regeneration. Wow, it’s amazing all the crazy stuff you can get these days! But I have to buy them from the old guy first and it’ll only be at the end of my journey that I’ll find out if they’ve actually worked.

So to make some progress I have to go see the village-renowned booze-meister, oh sorry -skyship captain - that’s his preferred title.

So I call out in a dark and angry tone: “Activate Turbo Mode!” *Press the space bar* ... and shoot off in the direction of Stonehill Market. Of course all of the villagers just gawp at me in shock and whisper to each other, but the gag was worth it just for that. *g*

Arriving at the ‘harbor’ I notice that he’s still not 100% sober, but he’s at least not quite so well-oiled as he was. Phew, well that sure lightens my safety concerns for the flight. And even if he does give a kind of er, shall we say, ‘skewed’ impression, he’s still pretty sociably minded! The ticket doesn’t cost a bean, but for that I do have to travel in the belly of the ship. What else can I do? He’s probably only doing it because I’m the new guy. *grumble*
So I hunker down in one of the many dark corners and give myself a little illumination with my ‘flaming fist’ and share my travel rations with the rats, so they at least will leave me in peace.

Then after a few minutes there’s an announcement over the PA: “Next stop: Heaven Island terminus, everybody please disembark, the exit is on the right hand side as viewed from the direction of travel!”
