Interview:
Exclusive Interview with Tae Young Kim of SUN Online Global Portal Task Force Team
The Ronin interviews WEBZEN's Tae Young Kim, Senior Manager, Global Portal Task Force Team, of the popular free-to-play MMORPG Soul of the Ultimate Nation (S.U.N.) Online. Read on.
The Ronin: First of all, what is the idea behind the Soul of the Ultimate Nation Online? How did it start, and where did the inspiration or original concept come from?
Tae Young Kim: The idea came from having a MMORPG without limits of location. Through S.U.N.’s unique map creating system, Battle Zone, players can go anywhere from wherever they are and do all the things they can. Normal quests take place in the fields, and as players follow the story along, they realize they are far stronger and better from where they have started off. S.U.N. is an MMORPG with stories, but without boundaries or limits.

TR: I’ve been playing MU Online (Philippines) on and off for about three years now. Personally, I consider S.U.N. Online an “improvement” to MU Online. From the graphics to the animation/character movements/motion, to the Crafting System and Enchantment, and even the character classes. Please give your comments on this.
TYK: They are different. There might be some similarities since it is from the same company WEBZEN, but the two games can be clearly distinguished from each other. However, since S.U.N. came out after MU, it did take some of MU’s features such as graphic and style.
TR: S.U.N. is a fairly new MMORPG. To those who are not into the game yet, what can you say are the game’s special features/highlights?
TYK: Global S.U.N.'s exquisite graphic quality comes first. S.U.N. won second place in MMOsite’s 2009 Readers' Choice Event Second Place of Best Graphic! The beautiful environment scenes and fine characters will grab player’s attention. Also, S.U.N.’s soundtracks are something to have a look at. The music has been created by Howard Shore who also did the soundtrack for the Lord of the Rings. Serious and sometimes dark, the music fits S.U.N.'s concept very well. In short, S.U.N. is pleasing to both eyes and ears.
