Dragonica Features Content Update
Dragonica is a full, three-dimensional (3D) side scrolling massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) developed by South Korea-based Barunson Interactive, well known for the Dragon Raja game, on March 2006. The free-to-play game, just like many other online games, is published by different publishers in their respective regions. Currently, the game is in full release in Europe and North America through gPotato Europe (http://en.dragonica.gpotato.eu) and THQ*ICE (http://dragonica.thqice.com), respectively. THQ*ICE is based in California, U.S.A. and is a joint venture between THQ Inc. and ICE Entertainment, China’s leading online game operator and developer. In China, the game is published by ICE Entertainment; in Southeast Asia, by IAHgames (http://dragonica.iahgames.com); and in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, by GameFlier (http://ml.gameflier.com).
Backdrop
The game’s story started an eon ago, when Elga's betrayal of the Dragon Lord Vyvern plunged the race of Dragons into conflict, and divided them into two warring factions. Seeking mysterious artifacts of power believed to be hidden in the realm of Dragonica, Elga mounted a bloody invasion 1,000 years ago, but was finally defeated at great cost and entombed in a hidden fortress, presumably for all time.
But Man has yet again proven himself to be an engineer of his own downfall. (Such as when Isildur got corrupted by the “One Ring” of Sauron during the Lord of the Rings story, wherein instead of destroying the ring by throwing it into the fiery chasm of Mount Doom, he wore it, bringing about the battle for the Middle Earth centuries later. Good thing heroes including Legolas, Gimli, Gandalf, the Hobbits, and the King Aragorn stood up to the power of Sauron to end it once and for all.) The same is the backdrop for Dragonica, when the beautiful and powerful enchantress Paris, hungry to be raised above all mankind, freed the Dark Lord from his imprisonment. As a result, a sinister force is spreading through the lands once more, corrupting its adorable creatures and turning them against the inhabitants of the realm.
