Downside of Playing Warcraft DotA against Shop Renters

As I’ve said in my previous post, here I am starting my journal about our clan’s quest to become the leading clan in the Garena community. But first let me give some background information about my clan.

I am the Clan Lord of The Praetorians (the name, as I’ve said, just sounds cool, that’s why we selected it). The Clan is barely two months old (formed Nov. 1, 2009) therefore the allowed members is the default—15. I’m sure upon reaching a certain experience (EXP) point, we’d be able to increase this number of members allowed, but we are far from that. Right now there are only eight of us in the Clan (all of us are friends), and currently not all are actually active because of some preoccupations. But of course, we make it a point that at least three or four members are online every night to play and win games, and of course increase the EXP (so whoever cares to join, just drop me a note).

Here’s just a short recap of how’s the Clan is faring in terms of Clan EXP during the past month. After two weeks of playing (5v5 and 4v4 games), we were able to achieve 6,808 EXP points. This is a small feat, I know, as we are not playing every hour of the day (all of us are working professionals); we only play at most twice a night during weekdays (weekends, whenever we can). Also, not all of us are playing sometimes, as others are engaged in other online games, in particular WoW. Anyway, by the third week, we only managed to increase EXP to 9,032 points (there’d been a slack in playing time). I wasn’t able to play for a week because of a business trip.

After a month and a week, our Clan EXP reached 13,403 points. But this is way, way far from the leading clan under the Warcraft DotA All-Stars Clan category, MARGAD GAME CENTER, whose total Clan EXP is 29,326,622. Dang! Anyway, that clan was set up 2008-08-16, so it’s more than 1 year, and clan size is 69 members, so it’s okay. We’ll be there, and even be better.
