Ah LARP! What's cooking?
So you are all pumped up for a LARP event. You can just imagine all the new quests, new people, sleeping under the stars, eating... Wait what exactly will you eat?
Let's face it, running around the forest the whole day can make a person really tired, and more importantly, hungry. You could always stop at the local LARP inn and buy some food there but if your LARP event is not that big and doesn't have an inn with food or your character is just poor here are some tips on how to have a full belly.
First of all, for the sake of role playing try to get some kitchen gear that would go well with the period or with your character. Let's say your character is Chinese - try to study up on some simple Chinese cooking.
So let's say you got your gear, time to head into the good stuff, food. I will present some recipes that are easy to make, fulfills your needs for the day and most of all are tasty!
Rice with chicken
Unless you have a small refrigerator with you I would recommend that you make this the first day so that the meat doesn't go bad.
You need:
-rice
-chicken
-oil
-onion
-bag of mushroom soup (the ones you make in a minute or two)
-salt,peeper etc. (whatever spices you like)
1. Set up a fireplace. Boil the water and put the rice in for 20 minutes. While the rice is cooking cut up some onion and chicken into small cubes.
2. When the rice is done set up a frying pan and put some oil on it. First put the chicken on it for about 3 minutes each side then add onion. When you feel that the chicken is done (you can check it by cutting up a piece and see if its done from the inside) put the rice in the frying pan, without the water of course. Mix it for a couple of minutes then put it aside.
3. Put a bit of fresh water inside the pot where the rice was and wait until it boils. Then put the mushroom soup in for another couple of minutes, add a teaspoon of flower so that it's not so liquidy and stir. After a couple of minutes add it to the rice and meat and enjoy.
