Article: Shore Leave 32: A Fan-Run Science Fiction Convention

As you can tell from some of my more recent posts, we've been lining up our convention appearances for 2010. In addition to the recent announcements that we'll be attending Farpoint and PAX East, I'm also pleased to announce that we'll be attending Shore Leave 32 as well!

Shore Leave is a fan-run science fiction convention held in Baltimore, Maryland (USA). It is occurring on July 9-11, 2010 at the Hunt Valley Inn Marriott. We attended Shore Leave 31 back in 2009 and had a lot of fun, so we're really looking forward to attending this year as well.

And boy does Shore Leave 32 have a great guest list, especially if you're a Battlestar Galactica or Stargate fan! Currently scheduled to appear are: Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica's Adm. William Adama), Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica's Capt. Kara "Starbuck"), Torri Higginson (Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis' Dr. Elizabeth Weir), Kevin Sorbo (Hercules: The Legendary Journeys' Hercules; Andromeda's Capt. Dylan Hunt), and Bill Dow (Stargate SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe's Dr. Bill Lee).

How many of you remember William Shatner's TekWar on TV? I am so getting Torri Higginson to sign my much beloved VHS copy of it. Yes, I said VHS.

Pre-registration is currently available for Shore Leave 32. The deadline for preregistration is June 15, 2010. Please note that this convention has an attendance cap of 1500, so you're strongly encouraged to pre-register. Pre-registration prices are as follows (these prices are for full weekend passes): Adult: $80; Children (5-12): $20; Children (under 5): Free with paying adult. At-the-door prices will be higher. Visit http://www.shore-leave.com/ for more information.
