Official Lost Conventions?

Last night, the epic television series that was Lost came to an end with a two and a half hour series finale (and don't worry, you won't find any spoilers here). It has, no doubt, inspired legions of dedicated and loving fans will be looking to sink their teeth into anything and everything Lost to make up for the show being off the air. So, that begs the question: where are the Lost conventions?

Creation Entertainment, which hosts a slew of "official" conventions for some of the biggest sci-fi and fantasy franchises (Star Trek, Twilight, Stargate, etc.), did hold the first official Lost convention back in 2005. Guests included Javier Grillo-Marxuach and Jorge Garcia. There was also a Lost convention hosted by Massive Events, Ltd. in the UK in 2008. But since then, it doesn't seem like there have been any Lost conventions of note.

Sure, the occasional cast member will attend a convention like San Diego Comic Con (SDCC), but there hasn't been a series of official or dedicated Lost conventions for a few years now. I think that's a bit odd, especially since the show going off the air has freed up many of the actors. Just to illustrate, the following Lost actors don't have any projects currently listed as "in production" according to IMDB.com: Naveen Andrews (Sayid), Jorge Garcia (Hugo), Josh Holloway (Sawyer), Terry O'Quinn (Locke), Michael Emerson (Ben), Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond), and several other minor character actors from the show.

One possible explanation for this could be that the stars appearance fees just don't make a Lost convention economically feasible. It's easier for a con like SDCC to just pick one up or two of the actors, than for one convention to try and pick up 5+. Another possible explanation is that too many of the actors just aren't interested in the convention circuit. While several aren't currently doing film work, they may be engrossing themselves in theater, or happily relaxing in a house they bought in Hawaii.
