Upcoming Vancouver, Canada Fandom Conventions for 2010

The Convention Fans Blog may be based in the United States, bu I want to take some entries and highlight some upcoming fandom conventions in the Vancouver area of Canada (all of the conventions below are within 120 miles of Vancouver, which means some may cross into the US a bit).

April 2nd - 4th, 2010 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center (Seattle, WA, USA)

Presented by the Asia Northwest Cultural Education Association, Sakura-Con is the oldest and most well attended anime convention in the Pacific Northwest. The year 2010 marks the convention's 13th anniversary. You can expect anime theaters, gaming, cosplay, cultural panels, dances, concerts, art contests, AMVs, industry guests, over 100,000 square feet of exhibits hall, guests of honor and more! Guests include Chris Patton, Richard Epcar, Luci Christian, and more.

Official Stargate Convention

April 15th - 17th, 2010 at the Hilton Metrotown Vancouver

Creation Entertainment hosts the Official Stargate Convention in Vancouver, and is "meant to be an intimate show for a bit over 500 fans" The convention offers visits to the set, parties, on-stage events, contests, videos, music, hanging with the guests, autographs, and photo ops. Guests include Michael Shanks, Joe Flanigan, David Hewlett, Brian Smith, and more.

May 14th - 16th, 2010 at the Sheraton Wall Center

Yet another Vancouver Creation Entertainment convention, this time for the Twilight fans. Guests include Catherine Hardwicke, Kellan Lutz, Bronson Pelletier, Charlie Bewley, and more. Gold Weekend Package tickets are still available, but they won't last long.
