The Steampunk World's Fair: A Three-Day Expedition into Yesterday's Future

G. D. FalksenThe Alltern8.com team is very excited to report that we'll be attending an incredible event in May: The Steampunk World's Fair! It is being held in at the Radisson of Piscataway in New Jersey (USA) on May 14th-16th, 2010.

From the official website:

"[The Steampunk World's Fair] is the first East Coast event to welcome Steampunks, Neo-Victorians, Retro-futurists, Gas Lamp Fantasists, and any and all others who consider themselves part of steampunk into a weekend long festival celebrating all things steamy!"

Some of the events happening at the fair include the Chrononaut’s Jubilee Ball, Cup of Brown Joy Tea Party, discussions, debates, workshops, and demonstrations of Art, Science, Fashion, Past, Future; The Murder Mystery Dinner, the Gaslamp Cabaret, The Gentleman’s Duel, The Mad Science Fair, original film festival, a bazaar, and a Steampunk Rock Opera.

Additionally, The Steampunk World's Fair will feature appearances from Professor Elemental, HUMANWINE, Black Tape for a Blue Girl, Veronique Chevalier, Madame Ximon, Tom Brown, Katie Kat, G. D. Falksen, Brigid Ashwood, Eli August, Felice the Dancing Wench, Happy Hour Burlesque, Platform one, Aubrey Calliope, Mr. E. Lopinto, Matt DeBlass, The Clockwork Dolls, Kyle Cassidy, The Absinthe Drinkers, Professor E.R. Darclyffe, The Mission Creeps, Epsilon’s Elixers, Outland Armour, This Way to the Egress, Walter Sickert & the Army of Broken Toys, CJ Henderson, The Comiku Girls, Amy Blackthorn, Psyche Corporation, Adam Smith, ModVic, and The Penny Dreadfuls.

As for tickets, there are different purchase options depending on which events you want to attend. All of the catered events (tea, alcohol, food) are extra. For the event itself, tickets are $30, with a $5 gift certificate. Tickets at the door will be $40, with no gift certificate. Please visit the official website for further ticket information

There's been an update to the at-door prices. The price is now $50 at the door for the weekend, $35 per day. Details about the change are available on the website.
