The National Halloween and National Haunters Convention is an event that brings together professional haunters, amateur home haunters, Halloween decorators, antique collectors, horror film fans, and history buffs all under the one umbrella of the holiday.

This year the National Halloween and National Haunters Convention is being held April 29 – May 2, 2010 in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania (USA), at the Valley Forge Convention Center.

But why a Halloween convention in May? Well, you can bet Halloween enthusiasts are already making plans for Halloween 2010! For the hard core haunters, Halloween is a year-round event!

The National Halloween and National Haunters Convention offers classes in costumes, make-up, special effects, prop building, scenic design, and even scareology. They will be taught by a staff that totals up hundreds of years of experience in their fields! The convention calls this their "Halloween University". Some of the other events include a make-up war, costume contest, a costume ball, magic shows, storytelling, monster movie trivia, various contests (such as best artwork and short story), panels, and more.

There will also be a vendor hall and artist area. Vendor space is still available according to the website, and packages range from $295 to $475. All options include free internet. For a vendor who does not need a full booth space and simply wants a little space with one table (6' long folding table) with one chair to display their product or wares, you can reserve that for just $100.

Tickets for the National Halloween and National Haunters Convention vary in price, depending on which extra events you may want to add. General entry for the weekend is just $25. Various classes at Halloween University range from $20 to $25, depending on the class. The costume ball with dinner and entertainment by a professional DJ costs $75.
