The Famous Monsters Convention is a horror con that takes place in Indianapolis, Indiana, and it is being held July 9 - 11, 2010 at the Wyndham Indianapolis-West hotel.
The Famous Monsters Convention is hosted by the Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine, founded in 1958 by Forrest J Ackerman. Famous Monsters of Filmland was the first sci-fi/horror/fantasy magazine dedicated to interviews, articles and photos on special effects and monster make-up from classic films to current blockbusters.
Guests for the 2010 Famous Monsters Convention include: Thomas Jane (The Punisher); Derek Mears (Friday the 13th); Judith O’Dea, Kyra Schon, Bill Hinzman, George Kosana, Russell Streiner, John Russo, Charles Craig and Gary Streiner (all of Night of the Living Dead); Heather Langenkamp, Amanda Wyss, Mark Patton and Kim Myers (of A Nightmare on Elm Street & A Nightmare on Elm Street 2); Tom Savini (special effects master), Bill Moseley and Terrence Zdunich (Repo! The Genetic Opera); and many more.
A full weekend pass will cost $40, and includes entry to all three event days, the film festival, and Q&As. All pre-ordered weekend passes purchased before June 1st will recieve a free ticket to the Friday night Blood Red Pool Party. Single-day passes are $20 each, regardless of the day. There is a special "Gold Package" which includes one hour early entrance to all three event days, an event program, an event t-shirt, a one-year Famous Monsters Of Filmland subscription, guaranteed seating to film festival and Q&A’s, access to all after hour activities including the Friday Night Blood Red Pool Party and the Saturday Night Monster Party.
