Official East Coast Star Trek Convention Returning to New Jersey

If you're a Star Trek fan who can't make it out to the big Las Vegas Star Trek convention, you may be happy to know that Creation Entertainment is bringing back their Official East Coast Star Trek Convention to New Jersey.

The Official East Coast Star Trek Convention is taking place August 13 - 15, 2010 at the Hilton Parsippany in Parsippany, New Jersey (USA).

Just like the Las Vegas Star Trek convention, Star Trek Voyager's Jeri Ryan will be one of the headlining guests. She has been playing hard to get the past few years, so you can expect the convention to sell out even faster than normal with her name on the guest list.

Other guests include Armin Shimerman (DS9's Quark), Nana Visitor (DS9's Kira), Jennifer Lien (Voyager's Kes), Jeffrey Combs (with too many credits to count), Max Grodenchik (DS9's Rom), Casey Biggs (DS9's Damar), and Vaughn Armstrong (Enterprise's Admiral Forrest). Other guests are expected to be added in the future.

At present, only the Gold Weekend Package tickets are available for purchase. As is standard with Creation Entertainment conventions, the most expensive package is almost always released first. Once it gets closer to selling out, less expensive (and less inclusive) packages will be offered.

The Gold Weekend Package cost $369 and includes the following:
1. Autographs with all of the aforementioned guests
2. The best reserved seats in the main theatre
3. First in line for autographs
4. Admission to the cocktail and dessert party
5. Admission to the cabaret show
6. Early vendor access
7. Wristband access and collectible lanyard

You can expect other packages to include less and less of the above. There will be general admission tickets for the weekend and for specific days. One-day only tickets are generally in the $30-$50 range, depending on which guests are present on those days.

Some of the activities planned for the Official East Coast Star Trek Convention include a special "Rat Pack" cabaret performance featuring the talents of Max Grodenchik, Vaughn Armstrong, Casey Biggs, Armin Shimerman, and Jeffrey Combs. This show is included for Gold Weekend Package ticket holders. It is $15 for other levels of ticket holders if purchased in advance, and $20 at the door.
