Robert JordanFandom conventions come in all sizes and exist for almost every imaginable niche audience out there. One such niche convention is JordanCon, a convention dedicated to author Robert Jordan and his epic series The Wheel of Time. Created in 2009, the convention is back for 2010!

JordanCon 2010 is being called "The SeanCon Invasion" and will be taking place April 23 - 25 at the the Crowne Plaza Ravinia in Atlanta, Georgia (USA).

Current guests include: Brandon Sanderson (writer), Harriet McDougal (Robert Jordan's widow), Wilson Grooms (cousin of Robert Jordan), David Wong (writer), Jana G. Oliver (writer), Linda Taglieri (blogger), and Matt Hatch (Theoryland.com).

Brandon Sanderson is the convention's Guest of Honor. In 2007, it was announced that he would be completing Robert Jordan’s The Wheel Of Time. Brandon is a two-time Campbell award nominee and his books have been published in 14 languages.

JordanCon, like many fandom conventions, raises money for charity during the convention. In 2009, they raised $3,000 for the Mayo Clinic. JordanCon 2010 will continue this tradition via a charity poker tournament on Friday night of the con and a silent auction at Saturday’s ball. Proceeds will again benefit amyloidosis research at the Mayo Clinic.

Tickets for JordanCon 2010 are currently available via their website. Tickets are $60.00 until April 3, 2010. Tickets will be $65.00 at the door. Groups of five or more can receive a discount of $10 off the current price. Children under 12 will be admitted at the current price, minus $10. Eternal memberships are also available for sale.

Programming at JordanCon 2010 will include a new writer’s track, games, book signings, a Mistborn RPG demo, costuming, weapons theory and demos, dance lessons, Wheel of Time trivia, costume contests, panels on Wheel of Time fan art and Internet communities, and more.
