Convention Fans:
Dragonflight - The Best Gaming Convention in the Pacific Northwest!

Written By: Kelly Rowles
Date: 13 May 2010

Dragonflight is a convention that started back in 1980 and today it is one of the longest running gaming conventions in the USA's Pacific Northwest. This convention brings together more than 500 players and game masters to play in or run around 300 events spread over three days. Dragonflight XXXI is happening August 13 - 15, 2010 at the Bellevue Hilton Hotel in Bellevue, Washington.

Attendees can expect board games, role-playing, RPGA, miniatures, LARP (Live Action Role-playing), networked computer games, card games, seminars, an auction, and tons of vendors.

Registration is already available for this Washington gaming convention. Until May 31, tickets are $35.00 for the weekend for adults, and $20.00 for children. Tickets will eventually cost $50.00 / $25.00 (respectively) at the door. Daily tickets are also available, but they cannot be purchased in advance, and are only available at the door.

While many of the events at Dragonflight are aimed at adult and young adult players, there are several events each year that are designed specifically for younger players (ages 8 and up).

Dealer/vendor tables are currently available. Vendor space will cost $100 per 6 feet of table space. The first table comes with two admission badges and each additional table grants one additional badge. Additionally, vendors can receive complimentary ad space in the convention program if they have already paid for their tables in full.

Dragonflight is a non-profit corporation "dedicated to the advancement of the gaming hobby in the Pacific Northwest." The organization is run by volunteers out of their love for gaming. A membership in Dragonflight allows individuals to pre-register for the annual Dragonflight convention, giving them access to cheaper rates. Membership dues cost $10 per year, and the dues are included in the pre-registration fee if you're not already a member when you sign up for the convention.

Volunteers for the 2010 Dragonflight are still needed! Volunteers who work 4 time blocks (10 hours) will have their admission fee refunded. If a volunteer works 8 time blocks (20 hours), they get their admission fee refunded and get a t-shirt as well. Volunteers also get a special raffle ticket for each time block that they work.
