Review:
The Best of the Rest--Joe the Barbarian #2, Star Wars Knights #50 and Green Lantern Corps #45
Be sure to check out this week's Marvel Comics reviews here. Now let's jump into the best of the rest!

Joe the Barbarian #2 is my favorite book of the week and even better than the first issue. Here we have Joe slipping in and out of what may be hallucinations or may be another world where his toys are soldiers and his pet rat is a warrior. This is such a great mixture of genres. Jack the Warrior rat is a fantastic character, looks cool, acts cool and has some great dialogue. Grant Morrison is the strongest he's been in a while here and Sean Murphy has quickly become one of my favorite artists. This book is not to be missed. Issue one was only a dollar so there's nothing to lose by giving it a chance!

Green Lantern Corps #45--another stellar issue by Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason. Last issue Mogo laid the smack down on the Black Lanterns but the GLC still has to deal with Green/Red Lantern Guy Gardner. The Corps does their best to bring Guy back from his rage but he's infected with the Red. Once again, only Mogo can save the day. I really can't believe how I've grown to love the living planet Mogo! It's unfortunate we're losing Red Lantern Guy Gardner as he's such a badass--who doesn't like a red construct chainsaw tearing apart Black Lanterns?--but you know it had to happen. However, can the affect of the red rage truly be expunged from Guy? Time will tell. GLC is the only Blackest Night title that has consistently shined and if you're not reading this then you're missing out because it's excellent!
