Review:
New Comics for the First Week in January!

Be sure to check out my favorite releases of the week Siege #1 and Siege Embedded #1 HERE.

Now on to the other new comics and read this week:

Blackest Night Wonder Woman #2

This issue basically expands the fight between Black Lantern Wonder Woman and Mera that happened in Blackest Night #6 as well as Wonder Woman's struggle against the control of the ring. Nicola Scott's art is great as always but all it does is take her away from Secret Six which makes me sad! The story is an alright read, unnecessary to the overall story unless you were really interested in the details of the fight.

Blackest Night Weird Western Tales #71
This is my favorite of the tie-ins this week. It's not necessary whatsoever, but it's funny. Joshua Turnbill is the main star; he's the descendant of Quentin Turnbill one of the many people Jonah Hex gunned down. He's horrible and mean and just hilarious. My favorite line of the book has to be “Snap out of it! This is not the time to care for anyone but yourself!” We also get to see Black Lantern Jonah Hex, Scalphunter, and Bat Lash which is great for a laugh. So a goofy fun issue, I recommend reading it for its dark humor.

Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #6
I love this comic. Ever since the reboot after Ultimatum, I can’t get enough of this book. Not because of the super heroics, but because of the fantastic characters. Peter's household has turned into a halfway house of homeless teenage super heroes. Johnny Storm, Kitty Pryde and Iceman are now residing in Aunt May's house along with Gwen Stacy, Peter's girlfriend. Kitty used to be Peter's girlfriend--plus good old MJ is still around causing quite the tension for Peter.

I'll agree with you about the art on BN: WW, but I thought the story to be such a waste of 2.99. And you make me want to read the Weird Western Tales issue.
