Review:
Don't Make Sentry Mad! It's Siege Week!

It’s Siege week again. And holy crap does Siege #2 wail on you. It leaves you feeling like you’re one of those Asgardians getting beaten on by a Dark Avenger. Siege #1 was fantastic—Siege #2 will blow you away. Starting off with a defeated Thor, Maria Hill comes to the rescue (that’s her with the rocket launcher in the truck—it took me a while to figure it out), from there we get Dark Wolverine hunting her and Thor, Thor proving painfully to Daken he’s still got some fighting in him, and Captain America getting his team together to strike back. Brian Michel Bendis’ writing is crisp and sharp; Olivier Coipel’s art is amazing. But the best part of the book is the Ares vs. Sentry fight. Wait aren’t they on the same team? You’ll have to read to find out but the battle between the two is beyond epic. And then there’s the final page—so awesome! There was so many times while reading this that I said out loud, "Oh man that's awesome!"

Also this week is Siege Embedded #2. It’s a big change of pace from the regular title, but very enjoyable. Ben, the camera man and Volstagg are making their trek across America to Asgard in a stolen news van. As Ben tries to interview every common person he can about how they feel about the Asgardian, the camera man tries desperately to keep Volstagg out of sight. As they get closer to Asgard, of course the H.A.M.M.E.R. agents find them and Volstagg goes nuts. Excellent fight scene here as Volstagg fights H.A.M.M.E.R. on their own flying skids! I haven’t read much of Brian Reed’s writing before but I’m really enjoying it here. Chris Samnee’s art fits the tone of the book perfectly. This is another Siege issue not to be missed!
