Article: 3D TV Precautions Outed by Samsung, Confusing?

Manufacturer of a wide range of hardware, Samsung, has announced that while 3D technology is indeed incredibly fancy, with most agreeing that it’s the next step in the evolution of viewing after HD, there are some precautions that must be taken.

Unfortunately we don’t get to hear any specific reasons that Samsung has for recommending that certain people should be restricted from watching TV in a 3D format, as I’m sure they’d be rather interesting considering those that Samsung advises to exclude from the extra dimensional living room experience.

First up are pregnant women and the elderly. Comparable things that the elderly and pregnant women can’t do are ride roller-coasters and move around in a sprightly fashion. Presumably that means that either 3D TV will cause you to miscarry or suffer heart attacks because it’s so exciting, or that it’s exhausting to watch it could cause similar outcomes thanks to the strenuousness of the viewing experience.

Oddly the other category of people that Samsung has recommended not to watch 3D TV are drunk people, which is an weird one considering that many of their newly on sale 3D enabled televisions are now placed throughout British pubs and bars, suggesting that maybe, and I’m going out on a limb with this one, people will watch them when drunk? I don’t know, maybe I’m wrong.

While Samsung hasn't been specific about why any of these people shouldn’t watch 3D images on their latest screens, they did list a few concerns that everyone should be aware of when viewing. Apparently enjoying that 3rd dimension can cause: nausea, disorientation, muscle twitching and sickness. Considering the amount of people who came out of Avatar rather depressed, better add that condition to the list of warnings also.
