"Well obviously its slightly different for those not from the city.  Most of the traders will accept the coins of the land, they can change them elsewhere if they need to and they come in useful for dealing with outside traders or for when we go out of the city.  I can't promise the exchange rate will be very good though because we don't use them that often internally.  They will also take barter items if you have them, thats a little more varied though because it will depend what value the individual places on the item, especially if its unusual.  There are some specialists in the city who would buy some items from you in exchange for credit.  Credit is the way we ususally work,  everyone who lives in the city has their own unique account, to pay for things we can transfer some credits to another person, its also how most of those who actually work for the city get paid.  Its just easier but obviously it only works here.  You can either use my account for your duration or I can have special ones created for you.  If you have credit remaining at the end of your stay it can be turned back into the coins calculated on the stable import goods rate. "

He pauses and with a wink adds

"of course if you see something you like and make it quite clear that you do like it, the owner may decide to give it as a gift, you never know.  Oh and dont worry about any of the basics such as food or anything like that, the city will take care of those.  We have a special account for that.  Which area of the market would you like to see first?"

The profs looks thoughtful for a while...

Tomas I have no wish to know things you must not tell so just tell me what you can...

Does the city move? Or are we in a crack between places?
Or is it simply that you have protection that confounds the mind!? I mean we don't quite seem to be where we should be?! Everything around me seems ... well, almost like a dream.
Even the corners seek to confuse & befuddle the mind here.

Brightens up - even has a glint
Should I be worried Tomas? Have you whisked us away to lost magical city to offer us wonderful food that will make us not want to leave?

Tomas looks confused

"How could a city move? And it wouldn't the the food that would make you want to stay but thats why we have a separate source for guests?....The city is right where it is meant to be... Where is has always been...I am not sure why the city would confuse you - is it possible it that your magic is causing some sort of...interference?  Normally once you get into the city itself its all fine"

Well I would suggest something light as there will be a great deal of food at the formal reception tonight... unless you would rather eat more now so you dont have to eat so much later... if you dont want to eat from one of the stalls I can take you to a nice little place

Ok we can eat light as we venture around the market - if you like?
What wonders do you have here for sale?
Is it like the market at my city?

My tribe would be looking to sell furs and hides mostly these are used for walls hangings and clothes but we also trade in jewellery, carved beads and polished carved antler which is made into bowls spoons and drinking vessels so anyone who would be interested in buying these type of items would be good.

"It is very similar I think to markets in most cities, probably less outside goods than in a lot of cities.  I think those items will do well, I will make sure you are introduced to the relevant people to make the arrangements.  I dont think we can help you with contacting your tribe... our...um..abilities don't extend too much outside the city unless any of our people are with your tribe which seems unlikely.  I suppose we could ask someone to try to boost your own thoughts but I doubt that is possible even with our best senders..."

Tomas thinks for a moment

"... no I can't think of any other ideas"

(OOC Note - I will write a pre-event brief which will include details of the celebrations, negotiations and your invitation to the next event. You will get these at check in for the next event, so please continue to roleplay etc as before. If you could email or PM me with the details on how you wish to go about negotiations or anything that would be handy as it will help me write the brief.)

Mmm I think I worded that wrong. what I mean is once a pact is made can you help to set up a staging area to deliver goods or do you have that already set up. iT would be easier to make deliveries to a warehouse at the dock rather than have my people coming to this place  Not all of my tribe are as civilized or as open as I am.

Tomas grins

"Oh I see, what we normally do is have things delivered to one of the villages on the plains and we have them transported from there.  One of them is close to the river if that helps, it stops people from getting lost in the mountains y'see"
