A little plan we have is to set up and offer voice servers for free for all the members/users of alltern8, but this has left us with a question...
Which do we go with ?? Vent or Teamspeak ??
Considering we are likely to have a rather large number of slots, we need to make sure which ever it is.... its stable.
Any suggestions

I've never had a problem with Ventrillo, and it's what most people use for World of Warcraft. Just make sure that when you set them up, that they are compatible with Macs and PCs.

It's my understanding that the clients don't host the server. That's why you pay Vent/TS for the service. |

Sorry didnt explain myself - licensed Vent/TS "server" is running on one platform, the version you have on your own machine (the client) is running in windows/mac/linux etc.
So I'd have thought that the clients should be any operating system (as long as there is a valid client) and that the server can be hosted on any server architecture..
So that way mac clients can connected to a windows server etc

All I know is we've had some issues with different WoW guilds not getting a Vent server that can accommodate Macs. Not sure on the details. I'll ask the boyfriend though, as he may know.

I have no experience with Teamspeak and thus my opinion is biased towards Ventrillo (which I have considerable experience with).
With that said it seems to me that the majority of users seem to use/prefer Vent over TS and as such we may as well follow the mob in this.

Ventrilo is so much better than TeamSpeak. And Macs...Let me not get started with Macs. If you're trying to game at all, you should not own a Mac.
